Scott, Andrea, and Alex

Andrea and Scott

Bill loved his grandson, Scott, his brother, Greg, and their mother, Joan (and Paul!).Joan and Paul They, like, the Petersens, were not of his blood, but of his heart. It's nice to keep it in the family, too...Scott and Dennis Petersen, and Greg and Don Petersen have been friends since they were in diapers. Come to think of it, JoAnn Petersen tells a funny story of Dennis and Scott and a dirty diaper...but we won't go into that!

And speaking of dirty diapers, Alex will no doubt get even with Scott for JoAnn!

Andrea Hofer and Co. Andrea's a smart cookie, and if this kid gets half of Scott's mental faculties (oh yes, that's Scott M. Hofer, Ph.D. to you), he'll be a MENSA member by age three.
Just get a load of this from Dr. Scott's page at Penn State:

My main area of study is individual differences in lifespan development and aging...describing and understanding developmental and aging processes in systems of variables reflecting environmental, biological, and behavioral functioning...examination of lifespan trajectories, intraindividual variability, and multivariate relationships among a set of markers indicating aspects of behavioral, physiological, and immunological functions... These biomarkers exhibit comparatively different patterns and rates of change such that some biomarkers are more sensitive to age-related changes at different periods of life than others. While our findings show that overall lifespan is not well predicted from a set of biomarkers, we demonstrate that when the focus is on short-term mortality, prediction of proximity to death (within 270 days of measurement occasion) is moderately high.
WHEW!
